Add Spam to your ramen recipe and create a flavor packed meal.
1 Packet Nissin Demae Tokyo Shoyu Pork Instant Ramen Noodles
Spam, 1 to 2 thin slices
2 Green Onions, chopped and separated
2 Teaspoons Soy Sauce
¼ Teaspoon Sugar
2 Cups water (or the amount of water according to the ramen package instructions)
Seasoning packets from the instant ramen
1 egg, soft boiled
Toasted Sesame Oil (optional)
Homemade Chili Oil (optional but highly recommended)
Chopped Green Onions for garnish
Bring water to a boil and add half of the Instant ramen seasoning package white part of green onions, soy sauce, and sugar in a small pot. Heat over medium-high heat until boiling. Reduce to a simmer.
While boiling the ramen broth, add sliced Spam to a small nonstick skillet and cook until golden brown. Transfer cooked Spam to a plate.
In the same skillet, cook the egg to your preferred doneness, then transfer it to the plate with cooked Spam.
Cook the instant ramen in the pot of broth over medium-high heat. Adjust seasoning with more salt or seasoning powder if needed.
Once done, transfer the broth and ramen to a bowl. Top with Spam slices and egg. Drizzle with sesame oil and chili oil if using. Garnish with the green part of green onions. Enjoy!
If using the seasoning pack, start with half and adjust as needed.
